If you've kept up with all the 2022 Color of the Year announcements, you likely noticed a lot of green. From Sherwin-Williams's Evergreen Fog to PPG's Olive Sprig, the verdant hue is certainly one of 2022's trendiest paint colors—but is it actually popular? Well, according to a recent study by Living Cozy, it is!

The study, which was based on twelve months of Google search history, analyzed the most popular paint colors for each room of the house. Across all rooms, green ranks within the top three color choices and was considered the most-desired hue for the living room, nursery, and dining room. "Green is a color of spiritual healing and the heart chakra," says Psychic and Spiritual expert Inbaal Honigman, who recommends using the shade in the bedroom, "to make us feel loved while we're asleep." Standout shades include sage, olive, and emerald.

The study also revealed white, blue, and black as popular choices across the board. In the kitchen, where white ranks first, lighter colors tended to be more popular. “White and pale shades of green and blue are all colors that are light and airy, to make us feel lighter and capable in the kitchen environment," says Honigman. "They're also colors that give the illusion of more space, as a vast kitchen makes us feel like we have lots of options, which promotes creativity."
